Angels & Whiskey by Kimberly Knight - Release Day/Review

Whiskey, women and sleepless nights…

United States Army Captain Gabriel Hastings knew he would always follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. Serving his country was his destiny.

Until he fell in love…

When Gabes love affair is cut short, he turns to whiskey for comfort and swears he will never fall in love again.

Until he bumps into an unexpected angel…

By all appearances, Autumn Jones has the perfect life. Her husband, Richard, is a loving man who wants to be a father to her unborn children. But Autumn knows the truth. Richard has a controlling, dark side that leaves nothing to chance, especially Autumn. He’ll stop at nothing to make her the trophy wife he wants her to be.

When Autumn bumps into Gabe, he consumes her every thought, but she can’t act on her feelings. She’s married to a dark man she can never leave.

When he learns who Autumn’s husband really is, Gabe knows he will stop at nothing to protect her. Or is it too late for him to save his angel?

I've always enjoyed reading Kimberly Knight's books and Angels & Whiskey is no different. I was hooked from the beginning. Kimberly delivers a captivating novel about how two individuals who are dealing with their own struggles in life can simply bump into each other and their futures/paths change from that point on.
The story begins with Gabe and is told from his days in the military. It immediately began the 'feels' for me and I felt myself heartbroken for Gabe. I wanted to crawl into the pages and wrap my arms around him. I felt instantly connected with his character and wanted him to be able to fight his demons away. It was a struggle for him though. I loved his protective side and I loved his friendship he had with Paul.
Autumn's issue was a little harder for me. She was in a sticky situation as she was married to an abusive husband. One, that in a way, had tricked her by acting one way prior to marriage and then changing after marriage. This happens so many times in real life though. When do you finally say enough and stand up for yourself  and move on? Autumn showed great strength for herself and with the encouragement of her friends was able to stand up to her demons and fight for herself.
To sum it all up you definitely don't want to miss out on this wonderful novel! Fall in love with Gabe and Autumn as they learn to move on from the past and love again.

Kimberly Knight lives in the
mountains near a lake with her loving husband and spoiled cat, Precious. In her
spare time, she enjoys watching her favorite reality TV shows, watching the San
Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks kick butt, crushing candy on Candy Crush,
playing computer games like World of Warcraft with Audrey Harte and online
poker. Now that she lives near a lake, she plans on working on her tan and
doing more outdoor stuff like...watching hot guys ski. However, the bulk of her
time is dedicated to writing and reading Romance and Erotic fiction.
